Print work~ {Scroll down for sample work}
I am available for print work related to chalkboard and chalkboard
art, as well hand drawn lettering and typography in general. I can
develop artwork for magazine covers and articles, point of purchase
signage, CD and DVD art, print ads, product label design and just
about any other type of printed media.
I can work in actual chalk, permanent pencils, or even use a digital
method I have developed to fake chalk. Each option has it’s own
merits and I always suggest the best option for your unique project.
Contact me at 615-482-2839 to discuss your project or send
your project specs to cj@customchalk.com

JANUARY 2013:
I was very excited to be contacted by art
director Lucas Nickerson over at ESPN.
Lucas is the guy that develops all the
awesome video effects for Sports Center
and other ESPN shows. Under his direction
I developed close to 40 pieces of artwork
to be used on ESPN during the week leading
up to the Super Bowl. The image on the
left was used as a “bump out” on Sports
Center the whole week and several other
pieces were used through out the week as
well.
Method: Digital chalk look method.
Below is some of the artwork submitted and
the final animated results. I provided the
art separated out into parts in a
Photoshop file for ease of manipulation
for animation.
The animation was done in-house at ESPN.

OCTOBER 2012:
SOHO Boutique in Augusta, Georgia
wanted a unique design to get their
customer’s excited about buying gift
cards for their family and friends.
I developed the art on an actual
chalkboard with chalk at about 5 feet
wide by 3.5 feet tall. I then took a
high res photo of the board, did a
little touch up in Photoshop and it was
off to the printer. The client
received a high res JPG set to her
printer’s color and bleed
specifications.
The cards came out great!
Method: Actual chalk on large
chalkboard to high res photo/jpg for
print use.

this board at vimeo> (OPENS IN NEW WINDOW.)
