PROJECT PROFILE: Mrs. Green’s Food Markets re-branding with chalkboards. Agency: N/A Location: Wilton, CT Project Type: Off-site rebranding, off-site file prep, on-site rendering Mediums: Permanent, chalk look I was hired directly by Mrs. Green’s to assist with the re-branding of their stores.  Starting with a new store in Wilton, Connecticut they would be developing a brand and store look based around chalkboards.  When I arrived on site I found almost everything flat had been painted black, they really meant it! I designed several large scale murals including all of the ones shown below.  I also developed 30 or so icons that were turned into stencils for the walls, some of the stencils were 15 feet wide.  This imagery was also used on their cash wrap areas. Mrs. Green’s is now opening stores across the USA, as they open in a new area they hire a local chalk artist to copy the works below to maintain an even brand scheme, then the artists add new boards and layouts to suit each store’s offerings. While I worked up rough designs on paper for some of the layouts below the real fun ones were the ones done on site, free hand in real time.  Working with the Mrs. Green’s management staff I would take the basic info they gave me for a board, rough it out on chalk, get their real time input on site, make changes, and then make each layout permanent for in store use.  Rough pencil drawing for Mrs. Green's Chalkboard Art Rough pencil drawing for Mrs. Green's Chalkboard Art Rough pencil drawing for Mrs. Green's Chalkboard Art Mrs. Green's Chalkboard Art initial chalk rough.
